Romano's is a super fun place to eat with their Italian music and delicious aromas. They also offer quite a few dishes that you can pick and choose between to make a healthy meal that doesn't kill your calorie count. Here are some of the items that I've found diet-worthy.

Shared Appetizers at Romano's

If you're out with friends or a date then it's natural to split an appetizer to munch off of. These are appetizers under 500 calories so that you can munch your half for less than 250 calories.


  • Goat Cheese Peppadew Peppers - 360 calories - 1/2 serving 180 calories
  • Spicy Ricotta Meatballs - 370 calories - 1/2 serving 185 calories
  • Bruschetta Crostini - 460 calories- 1/2 serving 230 calories

Side Salads At Romano's 

These salads are counted with their dressing and can be ordered as a side with most dishes- a great way to add a lot of extra body to your meal without a lot of calories!

  • Side Ceasar Salad - 160 calories
Sandwiches at Romano's 

As they are anywhere else, sandwiches are calorie rich, making them something to avoid. Romano's does, however, off a Roasted Turkey Sandwich that is only 600 calories. Pair that with a Fresh Greens Side Salad and you're only at 710 calories!

The following items on the lunch combo menu can be combined to create a decently low calorie meal. These are side salad portions and half sandwiches.

The "Pantry" section of the menu has several possibilities for a low calorie meal- Here are a few items you can choose to satiate your hunger.

  • Warm Spinach Salad - 360 Calories -  Add Chicken for 180 additional calories- Add Shrimp for 100 additional calories.

Classics at Romano's Macaroni Grill

Of course, Pasta dishes are very high calorie. That being said, there are a few dishes in the Classics section of the menu that aren't horrifyingly calorie rich. These are served with a side salad, so don't forget to add those calories!

  • Lasagna Bolognese - 720 Calories
  • Lobster Ravioli - 710 Calories

The Principales at Romano's 

Served with a side salad, these are the ultimate entrees at Romano's, and therefore very pricey for your calorie budget. 7 of these dishes are over a thousand calories, so be careful what you choose!!

  • Grilled Chicken Speidini with roasted vegetables -  410 calories
  • Pollo Caprese (Grilled Chicken and pasta with tomato sauce)  with an argula salad -560 calories

Romano's has this wonderful option of choosing your favorite pasta and your favorite sauce and blending them together to create a unique dish. This means that you can create a uniquely low calorie dish...

Start with your pasta- Spaghetti and a Capellini are each 340 calories per serving. 

Then Sauce- The Pomodoro sauce is only 190 calories
                  - The Arrabbiata sauce is 230 calories

Romano's carries Coke products, so all of your favorite diet sodas will be available. They also have a delicious coffee brew that is always 0 calories. 

The also offer a Light Beer that is 110 calories and their Bellini Cipriani that is only 120 calories. 
And Even... Dessert

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. You can have dessert at Romano's. They carry the following low cal options:
